A FEMINIST COMIC STRIP COLLECTION

„BREASTIONS“ is an autobiographic non-fiction comicstrip, sprinkled with feminist considerations, in the tone of a column.

Many themes are mentioned in the 30 episodes: menstruation and the much dreaded conversation with my mother in law about getting pregnant soon being the obvious ones, but also unusual themes like breast forms in art, the consequences of a gender swap, or peeing in public. As well as some visual experiments, like the depiction of the images used in genital names, or the visualisation of the song „Consensual Blues“, by the left wing swing band „Cats & Dinosaurs“ from Sweden.

In 2020, the book has received the Max und Moritz Award at the International Comic-Salon Erlangen for Best Comicstrip, as well as the Bavarian Award for the Advancement of the Arts.
